Prof. Ana Paula Drummond, faculty member of the Programa de P\u00f3s-Gradua\u00e7\u00e3o Stricto Sensu em Ci\u00eancias da Sa\u00fade (PPGCS)<\/strong><\/a> of the Faculdade de Ci\u00eancias M\u00e9dicas de Minas Gerais (FCMMG)<\/strong>, obtained international funding from the World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF)<\/strong><\/a> for the project “Translating Cancer Prevention Research into Public Health Action: Implementation and Policy-Relevant Evidence from School-Based Intervention in Brazil”.<\/em><\/p>\n

The project originates from research developed within the OncoEduca\u00e7\u00e3o<\/strong> extension project, which was part of the master’s dissertation of Lilian Magalh\u00e3es Lage, highlighting the potential integration of teaching, research, and extension activities to generate scientific and social impact.<\/p>\n

The funding awarded by WCRF, in the amount of \u00a31,300, enabled the faculty member’s participation in the 60th Annual Scientific Meeting of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC)<\/a><\/strong>, a specialized agency of the World Health Organization (WHO)<\/strong><\/a>, held in May 2026 in Lyon, France.<\/p>\n

During the event, Prof. Ana Paula Drummond presented two scientific papers developed within the master’s program, contributing to the international dissemination of research conducted within PPGCS and strengthening the Program’s integration into global research networks focused on cancer prevention and health promotion.<\/p>\n
