PPGCS Advances Its Internationalization Through a Technical Visit and Participation in a European Scientific Conference

In January 2026, a bilateral agreement was formalized between the Faculdade Ciências Médicas de Minas Gerais (FCM-MG) and the University of Porto (U.PORTO), establishing a framework for the development of joint academic and scientific activities.

As part of the internationalization initiatives of the Programa de Pós-Graduação Stricto Sensu em Ciências da Saúde (Graduate Program in Health Sciences – PPGCS) at FCM-MG, postdoctoral researcher and undergraduate faculty member Bruno Porto, under the supervision of Professor Maria da Glória Machado, conducted a technical visit to the University of Porto (U.PORTO) in June 2026, accompanied by Professor Lucimere Bohn.

The purpose of the visit was to strengthen and expand the existing scientific collaboration between research groups from both institutions by fostering discussions on joint projects, academic exchange opportunities, multicenter research partnerships, and strategies to enhance scientific production through international collaboration. The technical visit represented an important opportunity to deepen institutional relations and explore new avenues for cooperation.

As part of the international agenda, Bruno Porto also presented the scientific study entitled “Early vascular dysfunction in adults with cystic fibrosis: a controlled observational study” at the 49th European Cystic Fibrosis Conference, one of the leading scientific events in the field. His participation increased the international visibility of the research conducted within the PPGCS and further strengthened the Program’s integration into international research networks.
